Gordon Bleich of Bonita Springs, Florida, brought his family to this area from Farmington Hills, Michigan in June of 2001.Gordon had served as director of music in Baptist and Presbyterian churches throughout the greater Detroit area of Michigan for 25 years.Most recently, Gordon has served as pianist and piano/voice instructor and coach at First Baptist Church of Naples. After graduating from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Bachelor's degree in Music, Gordon became a music educator.
He taught vocal music for 25 years in West Bloomfield, Michigan - a suburb of Detroit.With a keen interest in developing music skills in children, Gordon expanded his education and received a master's degree in Orff Pedagogy from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.Gordon has been a clinician at sacred and secular music conferences in the Midwest.As an outstanding teacher and communicator, his children's choir programs won high acclaim in his district and state.Gordon was nominated by his peers as Instructormagazine's "teacher of the year" and indeed won that national honor in December of 1979. Gordon and his wife, Carol, have been married for 30 years.Together they have a son, Carl, who will be entering college this year.They have traveled throughout the U.S. in ministry, leading people in worship through their unique gifts of voice and piano artistry.In 1982, Gordon won third place in the solo instrumental competition at Christian Artists in the Rockies. While Gordon's vocation included music education, his true passion was and is, worship.His greatest joy is leading god's people, by the power of the Holy Spirit, into the presence of God.His life verse is: "Let the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you."Psalm 67:5.
