   Based on his experience, Jeff Bleiberg, a project manager at the Miami-based consulting firm Answerthink, offers top tips to improve communication about change.
   
   1. Don't pretend you're a white knight. Telling a team you have arrived to save the day is trouble. Chances are some people have been with the organization longer than you have, and they won't take kindly to a suggestion that you know better.

   Another way to manage change is to give everyone affected a chance to talk it out, says Jeff Bleiberg, a director and project manager at Answerthink, a consulting firm based in Miami.
   
   Bleiberg assembles team members to discuss new projects. "I'll say, 'Before we talk about where we're going, let's talk about where you've been. Have you worked extra hours? Have you worked weekends?' It doesn't take long to find evidence of problems."
   
   At that point, Bleiberg introduces the new processes and asks whether they will make life easier. Usually, he says, if he has done his job right, and he does not "sound too much like a snake oil salesman," the group becomes enthusiastic about making adjustments. Indeed, project managers who are out front touting the need for change are often the quickest to make the most progress.
