As Program Director, Ron Bleeker is responsible for all aspects of CAM-I's Cost Management Systems program including research planning and coordination, conference planning and logistics, publication management and marketing, membership development and contract management.
A guest speaker at industry conferences and symposiums, Ron has been published in topical areas related to cost management initiatives, in particular activity-based management. He supports the CAM-I Corner column for As Easy as ABC and has chaired CAM-I's Activity-Based Budgeting Project Team from inception.
Ron graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Administration, majoring in Finance. Upon graduation, Ron joined the OP Division of IBM. Following that assignment he accepted a position as National Director for the international brokerage firm of Robert's & Dybdahl. After 5 years in that role he joined C.P. Clark Enterprises where he served in a variety of financial roles including budgeting, inventory control and cost management over the next 7 years. From there Ron spent the next 16 years in Aerospace & Defense, largely in cost control and cost management functions at LTV, Vought and then Northrop Grumman. In his last assignment at Northrop Ron managed a multi-site implementation of Activity Based Management for the Commercial Division. While working for Northrop, Ron also earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. In 1999, Ron left the aerospace industry to join CAM-I.
Additionally Ron is active in community relations and is a commissioned election judge, an elected Precinct Chairman and both a senatorial district and state convention delegate. He is married to Karen Bleeker who is with the Arlington Independent School District in Arlington, Texas. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Education Administration.
