Jim Bleeke has extensive experience representing physicians and other health care providers in medical malpractice cases, both before Indiana's medical review panels and in court.

Jim Bleeke has been defending health care providers in Indiana since 1992.Jim served as Litigation Manager and Vice President of Claims and Legal Affairs for Physicians Insurance Company of Indiana and Medical Assurance of Indiana (now ProAssurance) from 1992 through 1999.In that position, Jim supervised defense counsel throughout Indiana in over 1,500 active cases.Jim then directly represented physicians, podiatrists, dentists, nurses, and health care facilities (including nursing homes, surgery centers and hospitals) as the senior Indiana attorney with Arnold & Associates until January 2002, when he joined Sweetin & Bleeke.Jim's contacts within the medical community through direct representation and insurance experience provide access to a broad range of experts to assist in defense of these cases.In addition, Jim has attempted to develop an approach to medical malpractice cases that incorporates the best of what he has observed in supervising attorneys across Indiana.

James F. Bleeke worked seven years at Ice Miller Donadio & Ryan in a broad-based litigation practice.In 1992, Jim became Litigation Manager and later Vice-President of Claims and Legal Affairs for Physicians Insurance Company of Indiana, now Medical Assurance, and served in that capacity until 1998.Jim continued defending medical malpractice cases on behalf of the insured physicians of Medical Assurance as an attorney for Arnold and Associates from 1998 through 2001, before joining Sweetin & Bleeke in January 2002.

Jim learned much during seven years at Ice Miller Donadio & Ryan, where his practice focused upon insurance defense, coal-related issues of black lung and mining regulation, UCC warranty law, and general litigation.Jim particularly developed an affinity for working with and interrogating experts in medicine and other scientific fields, including mold cases.Jim also learned from one of the firm's founding partners, Jim Donadio, that an attorney's reputation for honesty, hard work and responsiveness to a client is invaluable.
