   Kirk S. Blecha was conferred a Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1974.During law school, he was inducted into the Order of the Coif and served as Associate Editor of the Nebraska Law Review in 1973 and 1974.He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1970.

   Kirk S. Blecha, a partner and litigator at Baird Holm LLP, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), one of the premier legal associations whose membership includes a select group of trial lawyers in the United States and Canada.
   
   The induction ceremony for Blecha took place recently before an audience of 810 person during the 2007 Spring Meeting of the College in La Quinta, California.Founded in 1950, the College is dedicated to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the profession.
   
   Fellowship in the ACTL is extended by invitation only, and after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers are marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.Qualified lawyers are called to Fellowship in the ACTL from all branches of trial practice.They are selected from among those who customarily represent plaintiffs in civil cases and those who customarily represent defendants, those who prosecute individuals accused of crime and those who defend them.Lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship.
   
   ACTL Fellows never make up more than 1 percent of the total lawyer population of a state or province.Including Blecha, Baird Holm has three attorneys who are Fellows of ACTL.
