Carol has been a volunteer with the Society since 2000 where she started work in the yards and progressed to Team Leader.She is also one of our valued koala rescuers and does telephone night duty on a Saturday night.Carol was elected to the position of Secretary of the Society in 2003 where she does an excellent job and has just been re-elected for another year.

The Koala Preservation Society secretary Carol Blecha said: "We can't win every battle but we have got the underpasses.

Koala Preservation Society secretary Carol Blecha is jubilant at the response to the appeal over the past week.

"We thank everybody who has given money, ranging from a few dollars to many thousands," she said.

Koala Preservation Society secretary Carol Blecha said the roof would go on the new building in the next week and the society needed help to finish the project.

She welcomes corporate sponsors, or donations to finish the hospital.

"We have come up a bit short of our expectation as it is costing us more than we thought it was going to," Ms Blecha said.

Secretary Carol Blecha said it was important for everyone to know that if a koala was injured in an accident, it should be covered immediately with a washing basket, blanket or box so the injured animal can't walk away.
