A leading textile designer, Julia Blazona is responsible for directing and developing TrueModern's textile line. With more than 14 years of industry experience Julia brings extensive knowledge in establishing and running textile divisions to TrueModern. Her passion for children's bedding and professional insight are critical to establishing and growing TrueModern's textile division. Julia's expertise and trend-forward sensibility have made her designs top sellers worldwide. Her ABC baby quilt continues to be a number one seller at Red Envelope, and her rug designs are among Pottery Barn Kids' most popular products.

Prior to founding TrueModern with her husband Edgar Blazona, Julia served as creative director of JLA Home's youth division where she lead a team of in-house and freelance artists and overseas development teams. While at JLA Home Julia launched children's and teen bedding lines and was responsible for all aspects of new brand initiatives from concept through production. In addition to managing several retail accounts, including JCPenney, Cost Plus, Bed Bath & Beyond and the Saks Buying Group, Julia was instrumental in growing the bedding line's sales by 100 percent through one fiscal year.

During her career Julia has run several textile and bedding divisions including overseeing all business, marketing and creative aspects. In 2000 Julia joined West Elm as head textile designer to start its textile division. As part of her work with West Elm Julia worked with the brand concept team and helped set the brand aesthetic for a new home furnishings catalog. In addition to West Elm, Julia helped establish and grow the children's bedding division for Keeco, a home textile manufacturer that designs bedding for large retailers.

Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in design from the University of California, Los Angeles and a post baccalaureate in textiles from the California College of Arts and Crafts.
