   Stephen has his Masters in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He joined Bell Labs in 1974 where he pioneered new computer engineering techniques. Some of his work may be found in a number of journals, including Computerworld, Data Communications, and publications of the IEEE. Convinced that the art of computer programming could benefit from a more structured approach, Stephen introduced Industrial Statistical Process Control methods into the software development process. He went on to develop and institutionalize quality improvement programs throughout the organization.
   
   Stephen continued his career at Lucent Technologies and Avaya where he developed Knowledge Management systems and scheduling systems. As a major initiative for the spin-off of Avaya he replaced a Business Unit's legacy systems with an Enterprise Resource Planning solution using SAP.
