Dr. Shaun A. Blaylock, President
Dr. Shaun A. Blaylock brings a unique perspective and strong set of skills to CCS Group.His experience within education covers instruction, business, and student services and he also has experience in the governance of school districts.He was elected twice to the Board of Trustees for the Tehachapi Unified School District where he translated the interests of the community into actions.Dr. Blaylock has demonstrated the ability to understand complex issues and communicate with constituents in a manner that is easily understood.
Dr. Blaylock has the ability to focus the energy of diverse groups with different interests, to overcome conflicting positions, and to produce workable solutions.His peers elected him to consecutive terms as president of the Tehachapi Unified School District where he negotiated labor contracts with the district's bargaining units.Within a year of settling the contracts, he led a successful campaign to pass a facilities bond measure that required approval by two-thirds of the voter's.
As a result of his years in the public school arena, Dr. Blaylock has developed a pragmatic and straightforward approach to confronting and resolving issues.He has served as a psychologist at both the elementary and secondary grade levels and as a Principal at the elementary level.Dr. Blaylock participated as an administrator on the Superintendent's Cabinet where he enhanced his ability to see the broad implications of daily and routine decisions.
Dr. Blaylock has extensive experience in educational master planning.He was part of the district's management team that successfully planned, designed, and initiated a new school district (Golden Valley Unified).Dr. Blaylock also developed public and private partnerships in support of the educational and master planning process.He provided the leadership, in conjunction with the California Department of Education, to develop and implement a unique instructional delivery system for special education students.In the public sector, Dr. Blaylock developed relationships with large technological companies who participated in the construction of a high school fully ready for the 21st century.
