   Mr. Blaylock received his B.S. in chemistry, summa cum laude, from Yale College in 1988 ; his Masters of Environmental Studies from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies in 1995 ; and his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1995. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a recipient of the Howard Douglass Moore Prize in Chemistry. A recipient of a National Science Foundation Fellowship in biochemistry, he conducted research in physical biochemistry of membrane proteins for two years at the California Institute of Technology. He joined Baker Botts L.L.P. 1997.
   
   Before practicing law, Mr. Blaylock performed research on photographic formulations at the Silver Halide Research Laboratories of Eastman Kodak and on photosynthetic membrane proteins at Yale University, which work has been published in Biochemistry.
   
   Mr. Blaylock specializes in biotechnology and chemical patent prosecution and litigation for corporate and university clients. He has counseled clients concerning infringement and validity of chemical patents and concerning intellectual property transactions. Prior to joining Baker Botts L.L.P., Mr. Blaylock practiced in environmental litigation for two and a half years with the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund.
