The PRINPAG President, Gina Blay who was one of the journalists on the tour of the Swiss Banks says the Swiss authorities were not specific about the 400 Africans and Ghanaians who had stashed monies in Swiss banks.

"What the Swiss wanted to do concerning their banking system which was of immense interest to the journalists who were there and especially those from Nigeria because the Abacha factor was to expose us to their ways of banking," she says.

Quizzed if they discovered if any Ghanaian Leader or politician had stashed monies in Swiss accounts, Ms Blay replied in the negative " we did not come across anything like that, we definitely came across Abacha of Nigeria and Marcos of Philippines," she says.

She says, " we did make enquiries, we even mention the Blay Meizah case when we met the association of bankers but they were not too much familiar with the case," she says

Ms Blay says the purpose of the trip was not to go and investigate clients of Swiss banks but to expose them to Switzerland.

"We did make enquiries and mentioned names of one or two Ghanaian politicians but I will not tell you their names," she says.

Things shaped up a bit at the top later when Gina Blay, President of the Private Newspapers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG), stepped in to contest the top position with Sarah.
    ...
Sarah seems poised to win hands down as Gina is yet to be seen.
    ...
Some GJA believe that the Association being a watchdog organization should not lend itself to politics as Gina had done through her "Daily Guide".

In an apparent reference to an interview granted The Statesman by Gina Blay, who is the President of PRINPAG on what she regarded as Archer's ambition of winning laurels with his kickback stories, the Enquirer editor retorted:
    ...
According to Gina Blay 'good journalism is not defined by creating scandals and plastering government with it ...he hands it in for the best journalist of the year."

I read with surprised the cry for a fair share advertisements in the private media by the new PRINPAG president, Mrs. Gina Blay. She stated that the private media envy the Daily Graphic and the Times when it comes to advertisement. It would have been much more appreciated if Mrs. Blay had said that the private media envy the professionalism and the high editorial standards of the Daily Graphic and the Times.
