   Teresa A. Blaxton, Ph.D., of the University of Maryland (NARSAD Independent Investigator) is investigating nonverbal long-term memory performance in patients with schizophrenia and their relatives. The study will be conducted in two phases. In the first, behavioral studies of nonverbal recognition memory will be conducted with five groups of subjects, including schizophrenic patients, schizophrenia spectrum personality (SSP) relatives, non-SSP relatives, SSP community subjects with no family history of psychosis and non-SSP community subjects. In the second phase, the neurological correlates of this memory task will be examined using positron emission tomography (PET).
