Hank Blauvelt, Ph.D. - Chief Technology Officer
Hank Blauvelt, whose career in lightwave communications spans over twenty years, has been Xponent's Chief Technology Officer since joining the company in October 2001.
Employed by Ortel Corporation between 1985 and 2000, when the company was acquired by Lucent Technologies, Hank distinguished himself by important contributions in the design of optical transmitters and receivers for transmission of CATV signals over fiberoptic links and was the principal inventor on the Ortel patents relating to reducing noise and distortion in these links.In 1992 he was promoted to VP Fiberoptic Technology at Ortel, and after Ortel's acquisition Hank was named Chief Technologist for Optical Access Products at Lucent Technologies/Agere Systems.
Hank earned his Ph.D. degree in Applied Physics from Caltech.
