   Dr. Blattner has over 20 years of health care experience as a clinician and healthcare consultant. He practiced medicine as a pediatric hematologist-oncologist form 1981-1994. He co-founded and served as CEO/Medical Director of the Maine Children's Cancer Program, a model freestanding non-profit children's cancer treatment center in Maine. His experience included organizational leadership and direction of patient care, education, psychosocial, development and research programs as well as divisional and departmental level hospital planning and leadership activities. He maintained strong clinical and research affiliations with both the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Children's Hospital in Boston, MA from 1981-1995.

   Dr. Blattner received his A.B. in English from Cornell University (1971) and both his M.S. (1974) and M.D. (1977) from SUNY at Buffalo, New York. He served his pediatric residency at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine and completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at the University of Rochester's Strong Memorial Hospital (1981). He earned his M.B.A. from the Boston University School of Management in 1998.
