   GameSpot has posted a detailed six page preview of Heroes IV, complete with screenshots and streaming movie clips in which Jeff Blattner, executive producer at New World Computing, talks enthusiastically about the game and demonstrates some of its exciting features, including combat. A lot of previous information about the game is clarified by this preview, and we learn a few new things as well. For example, heroes on the combat map have a zone of command, within which they may bestow combat bonuses to creatures in their army. We also learn a bit more about the primary skills: Combat skills affect a hero's own fighting abilities, Tactics has to do with the bonuses a hero gives to other creatures in his or her zone of command, Nobility skills can boost gold, mining and also creature growth, and Scouting includes the stealth ability that lets a lone hero go unnoticed on the adventure map and be virtually invisible at higher levels.    And lastly, still no word back from Jeff Blattner about those promised screenshots. Personally, I've just about given up hope for them. I think they've decided to simply release that information to the gaming magazine web sites instead. Oh well, as long as we get the information from SOMEWHERE. :O)

   Heroes IV interview with : Trip Hawkins (C.E.O. of 3do) and Jeff Blattner (Exec. producer at NWC)
   
   This interview was conducted via e-mail by Qrystal with first Trip Hawkins and then followed up with Jeff Blattner. Both gentlemen were kind enough to take some time out of their busy schedules to answer a "few" questions regarding the upcoming Heroes of Might and Magic IV. Trip referred us to Jeff on the more technical questions considering how Jeff is more in touch with the inner workings of the game in progress. Some of the information we obtained from Trip had changed by the time we received the response from Jeff. So anytime you see a discrepancy...lean towards Jeff's answers.
   
   The screenshots and images that are referred to during the interview (as well as some editor screenshots) will be posted as soon as we receive them. 3do & NWC has been kind enough to send us some of the new art.
