Other transactions he has handled include the purchase of First American Health Care Inc., then the nation's largest private owned home health company; the acquisition of MeritWest Inc., a 43-facility nursing home company; and the purchase of RoTech Medical Corporation, the nation's largest home respiratory business.
Michael was appointed as the special corporate and health care regulatory counsel in the Chapter 11 re-organization of Integrated Healthcare Services Inc. during 2000-2003.
Previous Work
Before joining Arent Fox, Michael was a partner at a leading law firm, where he served as co-leader of the firm's business transactions practice group. In 1987, Michael co-founded Blass & Driggs, a corporate, commercial and health care practice law firm counseling publicly held and privately owned clients in a wide range of sophisticated business transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, business formations, stockholder agreements, financings, private placements, leases, management contracts, regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse and Stark issues, employment and consulting agreements and dispute settlements.
