Dr. Joan Blaska, an Education Consultant, Professor Emeritus and parent of a son with developmental disabilities is the keynote presenter on Saturday, March 8.
She was a teacher trainer in early childhood education and early childhood special education at St. Cloud State University (SCSU).Joan's son David has enhanced her career with rich personal experiences and true understanding of the cyclical nature of grief.She will kick off the conference portion of the weekend with her presentation, Understanding the Emotional Impact of Raising Children with Disabilities.
Currently Dr. Blaska consults and works on selected projects with a variety of early childhood programs, school districts and various parent groups.
She has conducted workshops and presentations nationally and internationally.She is the author of Using Children's Literature to Learn about Disabilities and Illness.
