   Wayne Blasius, a developer for InSite Development Corporation, said the board is excited about bringing Mast to downtown Knoxville.
   
   "In every place they have located, empty storefronts nearby soon filled in with new retailers interested in taking advantage of the traffic Mast generates," he said.
   
   Blasius sees the draw from Mast, coupled with the new downtown cinema, will create a great deal of shopper activity moving between the two ‘anchors', and generating traffic for other businesses.
   
   "Mast seems to be a great corporate citizen that will contribute to our community in intrinsic ways," he said.

   "Although retail has changed dramatically since WWII, this area has the access, proximity to markets, and building stock to once again be an important retail/commercial node for Knoxville," Blasius said.
