Solon resident Dale Blanchard said he wants another shot at attempting to unseat LaTourette. An auditor for the Illinois Department of Revenue, Blanchard ran an unsuccessful campaign two years ago.

He said he doesn't have much money but does have plenty of ideas on how to improve the region's economic fortunes.Blanchard, a certified public accountant, said the federal government needs to look at meaningful tax incentives that encourage reinvestment in jobs and equipment in Northeast Ohio.

    "There's one thing worse than a so-called tax-and-spend Democrat: it's a borrow-and-spend Republican," he said.
