OCEANSIDE ­­ A. Edmund Blackburn, 67, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, of neuropathy. Born Aug. 23, 1935, in Detroit, he lived in Oceanside for eight years.He retired in 1995 from the Research Institute of America. He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy for eight years.He was a volunteer with the Oceanside Senior Volunteer Program. Mr. Blackburn is survived by his mother, Dorothy Blackburn of San Diego; son and daughter-in-law Ron and Judy Blackburn of Michigan; and daughter Shirley Lemmon of San Diego.
