Tim Shay and his father, John, spent the night in their Spanish Lakes mobile home in Port St. Lucie as Hurricane Jeanne passed over Saturday and Sunday. 'He just slept through it,' John said of 42-year-old son Tim (above), who then set out to help their neighbors afterward.

"All I can say is that I never spent a night such as that in my life," said John, 65, a retired salesman who now drives limousines to the airport.
"He just slept through it," he said pointing to his heavily-tattooed and jewelry-clad son.

John, a self-described Irish Catholic from the Northeast who drives a Lexus, admits he sometimes worries about his son too much, maybe because of his health and maybe because he wasn't involved in his son's life until he was 13.
He proudly talks of the locksmith and tree-trimming businesses his son owned in Tennessee and how he can "build a house from the ground up."
