Ethel Handy Binyon

Born Nov. 9, 1912, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Roy and Ethel Handy Binyon, she died April 26, 2004, in Ardmore.

A resident of Ardmore for more than 50 years, she attended the University of Texas and had been a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority for 70 years.She was also a member of First United Methodist Church, Athenaeum Study Club and Writers Guild.She served on the county library board and volunteered with the Laubach Literacy Group.She and Austin Cline Smith were married on Dec. 3, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas.He preceded her in death on May 4, 1983.
