Manish started his career as a site engineer at Gujarat State Fertilizer Corporation plant after a Diploma in Civil Engineering.But he soon got bored with, in his own words, machines, boilers and chimneys and decided to enter the world of advertising.On completion of his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from M. S. University Baroda, he joined Contract - New Delhi in1995.
Today, thirteen years later, he works as Vice President & Executive Creative Director in Contract Advertising India.
Before Contract, he has also worked in O&M (Delhi, Mumbai & Malaysia), Ambience Publicis and McCann Erickson.At Contract and McCann Erickson, he has worked on leading brands like Cadbury, HSBC, Dabur Vatika, Liril, Essar Mobile store, Nerolac, Hanes Undergarments, Wonderbra, Vaseline, Johnson & Johnson, L'Oreal, Marico, UTI and NDTV.He has won over 50 International Awards / Finalists at acclaimed shows like Cannes Festival, D&AD London, One Show New York, Clio US, Communication Arts US, Asia Pacific Awards Thailand etc., apart from over 50 national awards like CAG, Abby and Goafest.He was ranked No.2 (in 2006) and No.3 (in 2005) in the "Hottest Creative People from India" list, compiled by Campaign Brief Asia Magazine, Australia.
His latest project has been to create the look, feel & communication of Goafest 2008.For the project he went beyond doing a conventional campaign and created and registered an exclusive True Type Font calledGOAFACE.In 2008, he has also been involved in various activities under his not-for-profit mega project, Ad-Museum: The World's first virtual museum of Advertising & Design (www.ad-museum.info ). One example of the site's activities is a unique "Portfolio of the Year Contest" for students and junior professionals of Art & Design.His films for Hanes Undergarments, UTI Bank, The Economic Times, Nutrela and Wonderbra have been selected in prestigious compilations like SHOTS, London & Luerzers' TV Archive, Austria.His films for TataPress Yellow Pages & Planet M were selected by BBC ONE for a prime-time programme on the world's funniest TVCs.
His "Respect the National Anthem" & "Hostel (Eye Bank Association of India)" are some of India's most effective, popular & powerful Public Service Communications ever.In fact "Hostel" is the most viewed Indian TVC on YouTube and has also been noticed and appreciated by United Nations, WHO & CPA (Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.) Apart being popular public service communication, "Hostel" also won a Bronze Cannes Lion, The CUP Award at Spain and Bronze Lotus at Asia Pacific Adfest, Pattaya."Telephone" for Help Age India & "Hostel" were announced as the Best Public Service Campaigns of 2006 & 2007 respectively by NDTV.Currently he is also busy developing lyrics, story, dialogues & screenplay for three Bollywood movies.
