Dr. L.A. Bhatt

During this decade Dr. R.R. Hattiangadi ( 1951-52 ) , Dr. G.P. Kane ( 1953-54 ) , Dr. S.K. Sircar ( 1955-56 ) , Dr. L.A. Bhatt ( 1957-58 ) , and Dr. G.S.Kashbekar ( 1959-60 ) served as Presidents and gave dynamic leadership to the Institute.

In this decade , Dr. T.K. Roy attended the annual meeting of the American Society of Engineering Education in Florida in 1953 , and Dr. L.A. Bhatt attended the Congress of the European Federation of Chemical Engineers.

Dr. Bhatt was elected the Honorary Member of the Committee of ACHEMA , Frankfurt , Germany.Representing IIChE at the Golden Jubilee celebration of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers in Philadelphia in 1958 Dr. Bhatt had the unique honour of being elected as the spokesman for 20 associations of chemical engineers from various countries , to offer fraternal greetings to the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

To help with the increase in workload , a full-time typist-cum-clerk , Shri Gouri Shankar Banerjee was appointed in 1958.
