Mr Kanak Rai Ramanlal Bhatt, the current treasurer will take over from Mr Sarcar with effect from 1 April 2008 three months ahead of the date initially agreed by the board.

Mr Bhatt became a Patron member of Surdhwani in April 2005 and subsequently joined the board of Surdhwani on 17 September 2005. He was elected as the treasurer on 25 November 2006.

Mr Bhatt retired from British Vita plc in 2001.

Mr Vineet Chugh will take over from Mr Bhatt as the treasurer.

Mr Sistachar Sarcar, the Chief Executive of Surdhwani has become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and joins the other Fellows of the Royal Society of Arts on the board of directors of Surdhwani, which include his wife Mrs Maitreyee Sarcar,the Company Secretary/Director and Mr Kanak Bhatt, the Treasurer.
