   Kenneth L. Bettenhausen is Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Associate Professor of Management at the University of Colorado at Denver. He received his Ph. D. from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign in Organizational Behavior in 1988. His research addresses how employees interpret organizational structures and managerial actions and how those interpretations affect individual, group and organizational outcomes. His original research on norm formation, published in Administrative Science Quarterly, and small group research, published in the Journal of Management, are widely cited. He has held elected office in the Academy of Management Organization Theory Division and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Management, the Academy of Management Journal, and the Academy of Management Review.

   Kenneth Bettenhausen is an Associate Professor of Management in the Graduate College of Business Administration at the University of Colorado at Denver. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois and taught at Texas A&M University before moving to Colorado in 1991. Dr. Bettenhausen teaches classes on Organization Design , Managing Individuals & Teams and Bargaining & Negotiation and conducts research that addresses work group/team performance and employee acceptance of peer and upward performance appraisal systems.
   
   Dr. Bettenhausen has an international reputation as an expert on norm formation , group dynamics and organizational effectiveness. His work is cited in leading textbooks and in over 150 scholarly articles. Dr. Bettenhausen is a past officer of the Organization and Management Theory Division of the Academy of Management. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Management , and the Academy of Management Journal and recently completed four years of editorial board service for the Academy of Management Review. Dr. Bettenhausen also conducts custom designed training and team building workshops ; he counts U.S. West , Neodata , the U.S.D.A. and the University of Colorado Executive Program among his corporate clients.
