Joyce Bertrand, general manager at Eagle Rock, said the resort has had "a lot of bad connotations" associated with it among the general public after the bankruptcy and before Double Diamond took the reins.
But she said the development at the resort is now booming.
A new driving range just opened at the end of September, and a nine-hole executive golf course is in the works.
Just in the past five years, the pro shop and restaurant was refurbished, a tubing hill was installed in the ski area, a 50-room lodge opened, a spa and fitness center was completed, new snow-making equipment was purchased, the ski lodge was refurbished, and a second swimming pool was built.
"A lot of people think that because Eagle Rock is a gated community, these things are closed to the public, but they're not," Bertrand said.
Bertrand and Skulsky agree: Recreational opportunities abound in greater Hazleton.
