Inspired by the light of a new lamp, Jeni Bethell, a founding member of the Tarot Guild, wrote an in-depth analysis of the Hermit from a Jungian and feminist perspective. She drew on imagery from Rachel Pollack's Shining Tribe deck, as well as the traditional Rider-Waite deck. Jeni has been a professional reader and teacher of tarot for the past ten years. She has completed a Master of Arts and commenced a PHD examining women's spirituality from a Jungian and post-Jungian perspective. Jeni periodically lectures in 'Myths and Symbols' in the TAFE Professional Writing course. She also conducts classes and workshops, principally for women, in areas of personal development including dream analysis, Goddess archetypes and the 'psychic' dimensions of our being. -
