She currently holds Washington State Real Estate - Designated Broker's License, the Residential Management Professional (RPM) (1997) and Master Property Manager (MPM) (1999) Designations from the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM).

   Valarie K. Bethel Dopson., MPM, designated Broker/Owner, of Parkwood Property Management, Inc. has worked in property management since 1986, starting as a resident manager and eventually buying the company in 1993. In December 1994, Valarie was honored when Parkwood Property Management was selected as the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Month.
   
   A member of NARPM (National Association of Residential Property Managers) since 1995, Valarie has been a Chapter Officer since 1996, and was recently awarded the MPM (Master Property Manager) Designation at NARPM's annual convention. Valarie is also a member of RHAPC (Rental Housing Association of Pierce County), the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and active community volunteer, primarily with the Lakewood Community Theater, which Parkwood sponsors.
