   Pine Tree Jr. High resource officer Chris Bethard recently awarded the crimestoppers advisory board with a trip to Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington. crimestoppers help to prevent and solve crimes.

   Chris Bethard, the department's school resource officer for Pine Tree High School, said the camp has taught the children about fire, bicycle, pedestrian and gun safety as well as drug, alcohol and stranger awareness.
   
   The children also toured the police department and police vehicles.
   
   This year marks the first camp hosted at the department.Bethard said having the camp at the department enabled camp leaders to better utilize department resources.
   
   Bethard said the camp's purpose was to make children safer and to form bonds of trust between children and police officers."We want to foster a relationship with the community," Bethard said.
