   GANESH BETANABHATLA , of Omaha attends Columbia University with majors in political science, economics, and Middle Eastern studies.    In addition to serving on the NYCRSC, Ganesh currently serves as President Emeritus of the Columbia University College Republicans and holds a seat on the Columbia University Political Union Governing Board.
   
   Ganesh has been involved with politics since the beginning of his secondary school career in which he served in the Office of the Mayor in Omaha , NE. In this capacity, he served as an advisor on the Mayoral Advisory Committee for Youth Issues, discussing among many critical topics, the development of a municipal Teen Court system. In addition to his responsibilities for the office, Ganesh transitioned to the Hal Daub for Mayor Re-election Campaign in 2000, serving as a public relations intern.
   
   Since beginning his university career, Ganesh served as Deputy Finance Director for the Columbia University College Republicans in the fall semester of his first year. After helping to establish a financial stability for the organization, he was named Co-Executive Director of the organization in the spring semester of the same year. After successfully helping to ratify an organizational constitution and acquire university recognition, Ganesh commenced his campaign for the presidency, which he won unanimously.
   
   In his second year at Columbia University , Ganesh assumed his seat on the Columbia Political Union Governing Board, through which he helped to catapult the CR organization to new heights in the Southern Region. During his presidency, the organization developed and continuously published the first ever conservative magazine at the university - the Citadel . Through various efforts, his administration was able to transform the organization of a mere fifty members in the previous year to the largest CR chapter in the state of New York , boasting a membership of over 400 members.
   
   In addition to working with the offices of Senator Charles Hagel (R-NE) and Congressman Lee Terry (R-NE) as well as the Business Council for the United Nations, Ganesh has well-established campaign experience. Under his leadership, the Southern Region hopes to increase its size and visibility in state and federal politics.
