   During last year's Expo, thousands of horse lovers, professionals and riders from several states including Washington, Idaho, Oregon, California as well as Canada participated in seminars, clinics and demonstrations. Riders learned how to improve their performance by conquering fears, building trust and bonding with their horses. Others discovered equine exercise, nutrition, therapy, and animal communications.

   Today, Land O'Lakes Feed Packaged Animal Foods Representative Ron Hammer and Specialty Brands Manager Bryan Besteman presented the two-horse, bumper-pull, straight-load trailer ($11,000 approximate retail value) to the Levanger family.

   Besteman said the contest was a success, adding that Land O'Lakes plans to run the promotion again in 2001.
   
   "We got a tremendous response to the contest and to the Provide Horse Food line" Besteman said. "Plus, we had the satisfaction of seeing the smiling faces of one very happy young lady … and one very lucky father."
   
   Besteman said the promotion was especially rewarding because it focused on a product line that Land O'Lakes takes considerable pride in.
   
   The Provide line includes a diverse range of products designed to meet the health and nutrition needs of horses of all breeds, ages, weights and work requirements, he added.
   
   "Protein, energy, vitamins and minerals, including selenium, are carefully balanced in against the specific needs of particular segments of the horse population," he explained.
