   Candle designer Shanda Beste began hand-crafting candles at the age of eight in her parent's basement by pouring melted crayons into walnut shells. After developing as a pretty much normal kid in a small town in South Alabama, Shanda attended a Birmingham-Southern College where she studied the arts, writing and science. Her background in classical ballet planted the seed for her growing love for the arts and the ways, values and philosophy of the Renaissance. One holiday season in Key West, her limited cash flow and creative passion inspired her to buy her first candle mold with which she made Christmas gifts for friends and family. Soon one mold turned into 50, and her perfectionistic drive led her in search of better and better materials, fragrances, colors... all the while designing candles with a purpose - to lift your spirits, to put you in the mood for romance.. to go beyond your basic block of wax with a wick... to bring together pure, simple materials and create something magical! Candle Magic also offers a unique service designing custom natural lighting for parties, weddings, and receptions to create a magical ambiance. Shanda also uses her graphic design skills to offer custom design work, including signature series for businesses and candle customization for bridal parties. www.candlemagic.net
