Beste; a brother, Robert Beste of East Northport, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.Mr. Beste was a graduate of Hofstra University and served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.He began his advertising career at Benton and Bowles in media buying and later moved to BBD & O (which later became Omnicom) in New York as an account executive.After retiring from advertising in 1987, he moved to Maryland, where he began a second career in public service.He served on the Ocean Pines Board of Directors for three years and was a valuable member of its comprehensive planning committee.He also served as a board member of the Worcester County Arts Council and was an active member of the Kiwanis Club.Mr. Beste was a warm, caring, spiritual and devoted family man.He was a dedicated reader of the New York Times and pursued his lifelong interest in world and United States history and art through his reading and travels.He served as an inspiration to those he touched in his lifetime.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Star-of-the-Sea Catholic Church, 212 Kingfish St., Ocean City, Md. 21842.Arrangements are being handled by Burbage Funeral Home.
