   St. Louis Park's All-Classic Lake Conference basketball star led the Orioles to second place in the Class 3A, Section 5 playoffs. Beste, a 6-foot-4 forward, was a three-year starter. He also was a starter for the Oriole baseball team. Beste now is a member of the men's basketball team at Carleton College in Northfield.
