Thierry Best graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris and the Ecole Nationale d'Administration.He began his career at the Ministry of Finance in the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and was successively Commercial Advisor in the French Embassies in Madrid (1989), Buenos Aires (1991) and London (1995).He joined Alstom Transport in 1998 as Sales Manager for Israel, Egypt and South Africa.In 1999, he became Senior Vice-President in China in 2003, Vice-President of the metro systems product line in 2004, and Vice-President for France.In 2007, Thierry was named Vice-President of Project Management with Alstom Transport.

On 6 July, the RATP inaugurated its new Energy Control and Maintenance Station (PCEM), in the presence of Mr. Pierre Mongin, CEO of the RATP, and Thierry Best, Managing Director of Alstom Transport France.

Thierry Best, Managing Director of ALSTOM Transport France, Hubert Peugeot, Local Authority Key Account Director and Georges Lacaze, Director of ALSTOM Transport's La Rochelle site, welcomed the Mayor of Angers and President of the Angers-Loire Metropolitan Community, local authority representatives and the press for the final exchange of contracts for the Angers CITADIS.
