MARCELLE BESSMAN, professor of mathematics at Jacksonville University, was recently honored at the Eleventh International Conference on College Teaching and Learning with the Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology award.Bessman was recognized for her use of technology to support mathematics instruction, specifically the Global Classroom and College Algebra projects, both funded by the National Science Foundation.... In other JU faculty news, GORDON ARBOGAST, professor of management, was listed in the second edition of Outstanding People of the 20th Century. The board of editors cited his contributions initiating systems engineering at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and his role in transforming the Defense Communications Agency to the Defense Information Systems Agency.
