   And in other news, Steven Besse, director of Development at Laurel Health System in Wellsboro, PA, has been named vice president for University Advancement at Mansfield University and executive director of the Mansfield University Foundation.
   
   "Steve brings the experience of a long and distinguished career in fundraising and philanthropy to Mansfield," MU President Maravene Loeschke said in making the announcement. "His experience, enthusiasm and energy will make him a tremendous asset. We look forward to many years of having Mr. Besse in the Mansfield University community."
   
   "It is an honor to have been selected to serve Mansfield University as Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director of the Mansfield University Foundation," Besse said. "It is also very exciting to join an organization with such a deep sense of tradition and caring for its students. I look forward to being a part of this time in Mansfield University's history that is built upon strong leadership, great hope, and high expectations."
   
   Besse has served in his current position at Laurel Health System since 2002. Prior to that he was president and chief executive officer of New Dawn Enterprises in Smyrna, DE for 11 years. Besse also brings more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry to his new position.
   
   He was selected after a national search and will begin his duties at Mansfield on September 4.
