   Playing in the third-place game after losing the night before "is hard on a player's psyche," Three Rivers coach Gene Bess said. "I think this team has a lot of character, but we just weren't tough enough to respond and come back out here and have a good third-place game."
   
   Unlike previous Three Rivers squads, Bess wasn't overly thrilled with this version's ability to lock down defensively and get repeated stops.
