Alease Bess, founder and director of CWV and a licensed, ordained apostle in the state of North Carolina, has served her community as a minister and an activist for 16 years.Presently, she serves as apostle to two nondenominational congregations in Durham and Spindale, North Carolina.She has created and implemented successful community organizing projects addressing harassment, discrimination, and abuse of women in the North Carolina workplaces; homelessness in Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina; the plight of residents in public housing communities in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and implementation of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) in Durham County and the state of North Carolina.
