Walt has nearly 30 years of federal government experience; 10 years at the Senior Executive Service level. He possesses extensive experience and demonstrated success in a variety of policy, planning and financial leadership positions. In addition to his federal experience, Walt has over five years experience as a facilitator, coach and instructor for programs of the Graduate School, USDA Leadership Development Academy. He is serving his third year as a coach for the Council for Excellence in Government Fellows Program.
Walt has all but a dissertation completed for a Ph.D. at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., has a Master of Arts Degree from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, N.Y.
