   Researchers are also conducting trawling studies to get a better understanding on whether horseshoe crab populations are changing. Tech staff are also designing an infrared camera system that will be used to videotape from a low-flying airplane and later count the number of horseshoe crabs on beaches during the peak mating period in spring.
