   ROME (Reuters) - Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berulsconi might hand his controlling stake in the Mediaset TV empire to his children after results showed he had lost the general election, a newspaper reported on Thursday.
   
   Italy's leading newspaper, Corriere della Sera, said Berlusconi was considering the move before being forced to sell his stake by a new conflict-of-interests law that the opposition centre-left have promised to enact once they form a government.
   
   Fininvest, Berlusconi's family holding company through which he controls Mediaset, was not immediately available for comment.
