   Born in Berlin, N.H., Feb. 7, 1926, the son of Archibald and Mathilda Nadeau Bertrand, he was a lifelong resident of Berlin.
   
   Mr. Bertrand was a 1944 graduate of Berlin High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
   
   Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed with his own coin operated machine business.
   
   Mr. Bertrand was a member of St. Kieran Church, the Berlin Kiwanis Club, the White Mountain Post 2520 VFW and was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
