BIOGRAPHY: : Lucie Bertrand. After a B.A. in sculpture she studied mime in Montreal with Claude St-Denis. Recipient of a Canada Council grant she went in Paris to pursue her studies with the great master etienne Decroux. She performed as a mime artist all over Canada, United States and Europe. She taught mime at the National Theatre school, the Cegep St-Laurent and the University of Ottawa. She holds a Master's degree in directing from UQAM. and has directed several creations with classical singers. At Concordia since 1975 she teaches acting and movement, more specifically the Neutral Mask. She has been honored as a part-time faculty with the Distinguished Teaching Award for the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2003. Lately she came back to sculpture and she is working on a project in ceramics called: "Clay Theatre". -
