   Named as Deer's successor is Doug Bertram, formerly chief executive officer of finance and technology for Farnam Companies. Bertram joined Farnam in 1997 as assistant to the president and owner. He quickly ascended the ranks to become corporate treasurer. In March 2000, Bertram earned yet another fitting promotion when he was appointed chief executive officer of finance and technology. He received his bachelor's of science degree in small business management from Arizona State University where he graduated cum laude.
