Special guests included Rod Shelburn, a pilot who uses his spray plane to help the department in fighting grass fires; former member Dave Bertram, a North Platte volunteer and special investigator for the State Fire Marshal's office; Chuck Hilderbrand, who was a member of the department for 43 years and whose father, John, was Ogallala's fire chief for 50 years; Paul Foy, Ogallala City Council president; and Dick Roeser, representing the news media.
