West Virginia senior offensive lineman Jeffrey Berk was chosen as one of eight NCAA Division I-A student-athletes for the National Scholar-Athlete Class of 2004, the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame announced.Berk is the fifth BIG EAST player over the last four years to receive this honor.
A total of 15 scholar-athletes were selected from the NCAA Division I-A, Division I-AA, Division II and Division III ranks in 2004.

A 2003 All-BIG EAST Conference Second Team offensive lineman, Berk is the only WVU lineman to start every game the last two seasons.He graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Coaching Education and is currently working on his Master's Degree in Special Education.Berk was also an Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll member and was honored by the National Student Consortium.
In the community, Berk volunteers for a number of organizations.He speaks and mentors special education students and is a "Buddy Leader" for the West Virginia State Special Olympics.
