    WENDY ISAAC BERGIN, flute, joined Opera in the Heights Orchestra as first flute in 2001.She is a graduate of McNeese State University and the University of Houston.Her teachers, to whom she is much indebted, were Patricia Bulber and Byron Hester.After graduating she moved to New York, where she studied flute with Samuel Baron and Harold Bennett, and was a member of the Mannes School's Mozart Opera Project Orchestra and the New York Sinfonia.During the three years she lived in Stockholm, she recorded several solo and chamber music works for the Swedish National Radio, and was a member of Skärholmens Kammarorkester.Dr. Bergin is currently Assistant Professor of Music at Prairie View A&M.Locally, she has performed as flute soloist with the Baytown and Brazosport Symphony Orchestras, and as a recorder player with Houston Grand Opera, the J. S. Bach Society Orchestra, and the Victoria Bach Festival.She is the founder and Co-Artistic Director of the Summer Music Festival at Church of the Good Shepherd, Lake Charles, LA.Her novel The Elf King, a story of war, music, and the supernatural, was published as a serial by the literary journal Bellowing Ark (Seattle, 2004-05.

    A member of the Blinn College Music Faculty since 1999 , Dr. Wendy Isaac Bergin earned her Bachelors degree from McNeese State University in Lake Charles , LA and did her graduate and doctoral work at the University of Houston Moores School of Music.Dr. Bergin is an international performer/teacher and brings with her a wealth of teaching experience at all levels of music study.She is the leader of Trio X Two , a performing ensemble in Houston , and is the founder and co-artistic Director of the Summer Music Festival in Lake Charles , Louisiana.She has also taught flute and recorder at the Kommunala Musikskolan and Die Deutsche Schule in Stockholm , Sweden.
