Having won awards for his vocal ability and song writing, David has taken his skills to the classroom, coffee house and festival alike as a way to entertain and educate his audiences. He is a contemporary songsmith and performs his original music along with traditional favorites. His song "Clearwater Once Again," became the theme song for the 20th Annual Monmouth County Friends of Clearwater Festival. As a History and Humanities teacher for 20 years, at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, David often draws on historically and socially relevant issues to become the canvas from which he "paints pictures through lyric and music." Schooled in the Pete Seeger/Harry Chapin tradition, David's audiences are warmed by his honest approach to performing. He is highly energized and enjoys involving his audiences in his shows.
David is a member of the Songwriters Guild of America and the Folk Project of New Jersey, and is a recipient of a top award in the Music City Song Writing Contest for his vocals on his original song "Shadows on the Wind." His song the "American Way" has provided David with recognition from the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Association, having been performed at the dedication ceremony to their monument in Holmdel. That song also has David nominated for the Trailblazer Award in the 5th Annual King Eagle Show/Festival in Nashville. David is a contributor to "The Special Collection of Somerset and Hunterdon County Authors, Artists and Composers" at the Raritan Valley Community College in Somerville. He holds two MA degrees from Rider University, one in Counseling and the other in Educational Administration. He received his BA from Farleigh Dickinson University. He performed as a request from the city, at the Philadelphia Bicentennial Commission.
